OUR BELIEFS

STATEMENT OF FAITH

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Bible  We believe the 66 writings that make up the Old and New Testaments of the Bible were written under the inspiration of God. Within these writings are inspiration and examples for how to live life as a Jesus follower.

The Godhead  We believe God exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While performing different roles, these three Persons are one God and have precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections.

Jesus Christ  We believe in Jesus Christ’s timeless existence as God. We believe He took on human flesh through a virgin birth and He died on a cross as the substitute payment for all of humanity’s sin. We believe He bodily resurrected from the dead and ascended into the heavens. We believe He presently intercedes for humanity from heaven and that He will return to Earth.

The Holy Spirit  We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, convicts humanity of sin, regenerates, indwells, seals, and draws believers in Christ to a life that follows Jesus’ ways. We believe the Holy Spirit guides, comforts, and empowers Christians day by day.

Humankind  We believe that humans were originally created innocent and pure. Adam’s sin of not trusting God led to his disobedience. Since then, all humans are corrupted in body, soul and spirit and need restoration to their Creator. Restoration with the Creator (salvation) only happens through faith in Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection.

Salvation  We believe that salvation is by grace, a free gift of God not earned by good works or good deeds people do. Salvation happens when a person has a change of mind (repents) from relying on their own efforts to reconcile with God and instead relies on Christ’s sacrifice for reconciliation with God. All who accept Jesus Christ are spiritually reborn (regenerated) by the Holy Spirit at the moment of faith in Christ and become children of God as a permanent member of His Family.
