Cornerstone Family Church is a family church located in Saint Cloud, FL. This community is a place where you can make family life better. We believe in God, the Bible, and God can restore humankind through salvation to become children of God. Welcome to our Sunday Sermon. We share the power of thanksgiving and the impact giving has on our lives.
The Power of Thanksgiving - Generosity
We should not forget that God is the source of all our blessings. He has the ultimate power to take it away or give it in abundance. God doesn't need the blessings He gives us; He only wants us to be selfless with what He entrusts us. Giving is an expression of our faith. Being grateful and generous go together, hence thanksgiving.
Giving Draws Us Closer to God
Giving brings you closer to God because He is a giver and wants us to be like him. God gives with good grace to all. It is not possible to love without giving, though you can give without loving. Everything we have comes from God. Thus, we can only give what belongs to Him. Giving reflects the condition of our hearts, which reflects how grateful we are and our desire to obey God.
Giving Breaks the Yoke of Materialism
Giving helps you become less materialistic by letting go of what you have instead of wanting it all for yourself. Life does not consist of everything you can accumulate, nor is it defined by net worth. Net worth and self-worth should be the same. Practicing generosity breaks you away from selfishness. It gives you a spiritual victory and shows you love God beyond money.
Giving strengthens your faith
Giving proves that you have immense faith in God. It shows you trust God with your finances and proves the certainty of your faith. You can only prove that God exists by tithing and giving. Tithing puts God to the test, as He says in his word. Giving from the heart blesses you in return and gives you even more, to continue giving to others. Giving should not feel obligatory. It shows that we are spiritually mature.
