OUR STORY

Cornerstone began during the spring of 1988 in the hearts and prayers of four families who had a vision for “a different kind of church.” Two area pastors helped connect the families to the Southern Baptist Convention and to Pastor Nathan Blackwell who was serving as a senior pastor in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Pastor Nathan accepted this call to Saint Cloud and became Cornerstone’s Senior Pastor.

Cornerstone’s first worship service was held on Easter Sunday, April 3, 1988. Charter Day, July 24, 1988, officially established a church membership with 197 persons received as Charter Members.

The property that Cornerstone is currently situated on was purchased in October, 1988. The completion of the first building (now known as Building I) was celebrated with a Dedication Service in November, 1991. Ten years later there was cause for celebration again as Building II was dedicated in September 2001.

The Elders and Pastors of Cornerstone Family Church have had a long burden to reach families of all types and seasons of life and wanted Cornerstone to be known for that and officially changed the name of the church to Cornerstone Family in 2011.

2013 marked our 25th Anniversary and currently Cornerstone Family Church has more than 1000 in attendance on Sundays and continues to grow as we go into the greater Saint Cloud community building relationships and serving others.
